Join our Vegetable Crew to explore the challenges of growing in a region where winters are long and cold, and our peak growing season is around 90 days at best. You’ll learn about the strategies we use to extend our growing season at high altitude, tour our hoop houses (including our three new structures!), and view techniques we use to keep our plants warm and happy in the off seasons. Along the way, we will discuss how we farm with nature rather than against it. You’ll get an introduction into how we use the ecosystem around us to help reduce pests in the garden, utilizing beneficial insects, and co-planting techniques that can reduce pest pressure, increase yields, and make for a more attractive garden. This meal will be vegetarian and highlight the best of the season’s crops.
